ConstructionAll our furniture is hand made. I guess that there are many definitions of that phrase. Here is ours. Every part of every component is worked by hand. We use machines where they make sense and we use hand tools where they make sense. At the end of the day the important issue to us and you is the resulting quality of the furniture. We don't import kits to make our furniture. When we say we make it we mean that we take sawn dried timber and plane, cut shape and sand it ourselves to create each chair. We started out by making furniture for ourselves and then for our neighbours. We try now to apply the same standards of care and attention to the construction of the furniture we make for you. We basically don't let it go out of the workshop unless we would be happy for it to go to people we meet every day across the garden fence. We build our chairs for sitting in. The fact that they look good is a bonus. The edge of every board is rounded over which not only makes them more comfortable but also helps to avoid splinters developing as the timber ages. For our Natural and Oiled finish we use good quality stainless steel screws and fittings and then hide most of them beneath timber plugs matching the timber we are using. Finally we back up this attention to detail with our satisfaction guarantee and 12 month warranty.
